Pink Garter awarded retail liquor license

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

By Ben Cannon

Jackson Hole, WYO-- The Jackson Town council has chosen to award the first of two available retail liquor licenses to a show promoter who wants to revitalize the Pink Garter Theatre.

Before awarding the first retail liquor license during a process that occurs only every few years, Town council members told Dom Gagliardi they would like to see him operate a bar that was open most nights of the week. Gagliardi originally told the Town council he would open on nights when live music acts perform.

"I would rather see that bar open 6 or 7 days a week," said Mayor Mark Barron. "If what we're trying to do is stimulate [the Pink Garter area], that would stimulate."

Gagliardi told Town council he and his partners would would "start slow and build from there." JHW

Why the reversal in policy? We are now allowing non city council members to be awarded liquor licenses? WTH?
