Jackson Hole, Wyo.-Jeff Neishabouri, owner of Kismet Rug Gallery located at 140 E. Broadway, may buy the 1.38 acre property across the street from his business that is home to both Jedidiah’s House of Sourdough and Jackson Hole Roasters.
When we contacted Neishabouri about this pending sale, he did not deny that he was planning to purchase the property, but was hesitant to speak about the specifics of the sale. The sale is not final and could change. Public record shows the property is still owned by Ridge Creek Investments Co. which is a company owned by the Garaman family.
“I just keep writing a check every month,” joked Mike Gierau, owner of Jedidiah’s House of Sour Dough. “Abby [Garaman] is my landlord right now.” Gierau noted that many people have tried to purchase that property over the years, including himself.
Jack Malia, owner of Jackson Hole Roasters, said he was pleased Neishabouri was buying the property. Malia said that it was his impression that Neishabouri does not have intentions to immediately develop the parcel. Malia said Neishabouri will most likely hold on to the property for a short amount of time and then sell it to someone for a higher price. This was not confirmed with Neishabouri.
The neighbors to the east of the 1.38 acre property, who own the .46 acre parcel that the old Pillow Fluffer sits on, recently tried to acquire the same piece of land but the deal fell through. They had plans to redevelop the block into a pedestrian shopping center with apartments. The name of the owner was not available on public record, but a company name, Smart Growth, LLC of Bethesda, Maryland, is named.
AT&T Swallows Edge WirelessMeanwhile, across town - and through out the Pacific Northwest - AT&T is going to purchase Edge Wireless LLC. AT&T Inc. has entered a definitive agreement with Edge Wireless to purchase the company that has a total of 172,000 subscribers. AT&T has always had a stake in the small regional wireless company and is purchasing the remaining 64.3 percent of the company, AT&T said in a press release.
The transaction is contingent upon regulatory approval but should close by the middle of 2008. When we contacted AT&T and Edge Wireless, both companies had no comment. They would not give us any details as to what your billing situation or cell phone service would be like during the change. We’ll keep you posted.
