Jackson Hole, Wyo.-The effects of climate change may seem intangible at times. But for the polar bear, the ever-warming world could be a death sentence. Scientists suggest that the polar bear will be the first animal to be threatened with extinction because of a global warming.
Steven Kazlowski’s photos capture the plight of the polar bear, and remind us climate change is not something we can ignore. Kazlowski views the animal as an indicator species, revealing the effects of our reliance on fossil fuels. His slideshow presentation based on his book The Last Polar Bear will include photos and anecdotes from his six years of chronicling the polar bear in its natural habitat.
The Last Polar Bear, 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, National Museum of Wildlife Art. Free.
