Jackson Hole, Wyo.-Simply Ruckus, a collection of sci-fi totem paintings by Benji “Ruckus” Pierson, opens at Full Circle Frameworks and Gallery.
In February, Ruckus abandoned his usual subject matter – robots and aliens – to paint wildlife in a series called Mechanimals, which saw commercial success at the Brew Pub. Part Oglala Sioux, he is now applying his mechanical, space-age aesthetic to Native American culture.
With DJ Sessions, the opening will go from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Friday, at FCF&G, 345 N. Glenwood.
•Lyndsay McCandless Contemporary is still redefining “art opening” in Jackson Hole.This week’s First Friday will feature bee-inspired work by Megan Fitz and a new series of paintings from Melissa Herrington, titled “Dreams and Waking.” Belt buckles by John Frechette, screen-prints by Meagan Schwartz, paintings by Alissa Davies, shirts a
nd drawings by Vanessa Sulzer, body potions from Kelly Chadwick and jewelry from Ben Rae will also be available. The Dragon Lady will be serving tea.
McCandless invites attendees to bring their own bottle of wine.The event runs 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at LMC, 130 S. Jackson Street.
