Jackson Hole, Wyo.-A toy maker casts a set of tin soldiers out of an old tin spoon, only when he gets to the last one, he runs out of tin, so the soldier stands on one leg, an outcast. But then, he spots a paper ballerina, standing on one leg, her second hidden in her tutu, and he falls in love. He also falls out of a window, not unlike Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story. Thusly, begins the adventure of the tin soldier in Han Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, The Steadfast Tin Soldier.
A local performance for familes, combining members of Dancers’ Workshop Junior Repertory Company and Grand Teton Music Festival musicians takes place this weekend.
The Steadfast Tin Soldier is at 4 p.m., Saturday, at Walk Festival Hall. Free.
