Mayor's son killed in fall

Jackson Hole, WYO--Wesley Barron, the son of Jackson Mayor Mark Barron, was found dead Wednesday, the result of an apparent climbing accident.

Teton County Search and Rescue officials discovered Barron's bodyaround 11 a.m. in the Curtis Canyon climbing area. Friends reportedthat Wesley Barron had gone climbing alone on Tuesday, and becamealarmed when he did not report to work Wednesday.

Unnamed family members began searching local climbing areas andnotified authorities after discovering Barron's car in the CurtisCanyon parking area.

Rescue personnel were brought in and discovered that Barron had fallen fromnearby cliffs during an apparent solo free climb, suffering fatal injuries.

He was 26.
