Jackson Hole, Wyoming -
Jackson Scouts appear in bookThe Tetons and local Boy Scouts have made it into the centennial edition of the iconic Boy Scout Handbook. The 2010 handbook features numerous photos of Scouts from the Jackson District hiking below the Grand Teton range.
“Scouting has long been an important part of life for young men growing up in this valley,” said Jim Wallace, a Jackson District board member.
Along with teaching classic outdoorsmanship and espousing good citizenship, the new handbook brings Scouting into its second century with new features like an iPhone app and a section on using global positioning technology.
The Jackson Boy Scouts chapter will celebrate the organization’s centennial in March with a “Gathering of Eagles” gala at Snow King Resort. Anyone who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout is invited to attend the gala, which is expected to be attended by Sen. Mike Enzi, himself an Eagle Scout, and Sen. John Barrasso.
‘Holiday Revue’ cancelledThe Off Square Theatre has canceled the production “Holiday Revue,” the loca
l stage company announced last week. The show was to be a final production for the 2009 season, but was canceled due to “a variety of reasons,” said artistic director John Briggs.
People who already held tickets to the December show can be credited for tickets for the 2010 season. 733-3021. JHW
