Charter jet firm reports increase

Jackson Hole, Wyo.-A locally-based private charter jet company has reported an increase in traffic in and out of Jackson Hole for 2009.

New Flight Charters saw its arrivals and departures go up 129 percent last year, company spokeswoman Kimberly Rambo said.

“We’re very, very psyched about that,” Rambo said.

The company booked 62 flights for Jackson Hole last year, she said.

The most popular metropolitan area feeding into the valley through the private charter is Scottsdale, AZ, followed the San Francisco Bay area and then New York City. Los Angeles was the fourth most popular metropolitan area.

New Flight Charters president Rick Colson relocated the company here three years ago, after he took an “empty leg,” or chartered flight that has been paid for but has no passengers, to the valley, according to Rambo.

The firm arranges charter flights throughout the country, Rambo said.
