Jackson Hole, Wyo. – Area arts groups will present
their works, tonight, in an effort to raise funds for two area youths
battling cancer.
Dancers’ Workshop and the Laff Staff have teamed up with local filmmakers and First Descents – an organization that uses adventure sports to treat
physical, emotional and psychological scars of young adults with cancer – to benefit
Jason Fish and Sofie Wilcox.
Dancers’ Workshop will perform a new work, called “Duets”;
Laff Staff, an improv comedy troupe, will . . . well. . . improvise some comedy;
and local filmmakers Arden Oksanen and Trask McFarland of Arris will screen
their documentary, The River Ward.
The River Ward documents
four cancer-surviving youths who found strength through First Descents, a program.
The silent auction will include skis, snowboards, paintings,
blown glass art, photographs, dinner certificates and spa packages. JHW
One Night to Fight Cancer presents two shows, 7 and 9 p.m.,
Saturday, at the Center for the Arts. $10. 733-4900.
