Fritz Cubin dies

Jackson Hole, Wyo.-The husband of former U.S. Representative Barbara Cubin has died.
Dr. Frederick “Fritz” Cubin, a longtime Casper resident, passed away Monday at Wyoming Medical Center. He was 71.
Cubin had battled a number of medical problems in the last decade, and in 2007 Rep. Cubin cited family emergencies as a primary reason she wouldn’t seek reelection after seven terms in office.
Fritz Cubin was reported to have been active in recent weeks before falling ill over the weekend, according the Casper Star Tribune.
“We don’t know what finally took him this time,” his son, Bill Cubin, told the paper. “It could’ve been a host of things just reaching critical mass.”
