Five killed in I-80 accident

Five people were killed on Interstate 80 last Thursday after the vehicle they were riding in crossed a median and slammed into an oncoming semi.
Maria Ruiz-Flores was driving a late-model Chevrolet pickup truck carrying Jose Hernandez-Ruiz and three young passengers whose identities were unknown to authorities on Monday. The unidentified passengers were described as a teenage boy, a teenage girl, and a juvenile girl.
No one in the car was wearing a seat belt, however it is not clear if a seat belt would have saved lives, so demolished was the vehicle.
Ruiz-Flores was driving westbound along I-80 in Carbon County, in south-central Wyoming, when she apparently lost control of the vehicle and careened into the eastbound lane.
Road conditions were icy, according to an accident report, and authorities said driving too fast on the icy road was a factor.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
