Half-naked burglar suspect arrested
Jackson Hole, Wyo.-Police have arrested a man they believe was involved in a Feb. 7 break-in of a south Jackson home.
Douglas Currie, 23, was apprehended Tuesday morning at the Mad Dog Ranch bus stop on Teton Village Road. He is charged with burglary, a felony.
The bizarre case involved a sleeping resident awakening to the sound of a door closing in the early morning hours. When the resident got up to investigate, he discovered a tall man in the bathroom rummaging through a medicine cabinet.
The resident tried to detain the man while his roommate called police, but the intruder was able to wriggle free, shedding many of his items of clothing in the process.
Police released both a photo of the clothing the suspect left behind and a composite sketch.
Someone tipped off authorities by calling Crimestoppers hotline, a police spokesman said.
Library trims hoursThe Teton County Library will cut seven hours from its weekly operating schedule due to a short staff and a county-wide hiring freeze.
The reduced hours, a consequence of a projected county budget shortfall, take effect April 5.
There are currently seven job vacancies at the library that will go unfilled, said library director Deb Adams.
“We hope that these measures, just like the current economic situation and the pinch local families are feeling, won’t last forever and we’ll be able to return to our current hours,” Adams said. JHW
