Older getting younger
Visiting the Web site MSN.com the other day, I read a headline about
“Sexy Celebrities over 35.” Not the least bit interested in sexy
celebs, I didn’t bother to click to read this no-doubt fascinating
report, but the headline stayed with me. I couldn’t help but ponder the
underlying message. Was it some sort of news flash that a person could
be sexy in the twilit years of their fourth decade? Am I too old for
the internet medium, or at least for MSN.com? I know the internet is a
youthful medium, but it’s a totally bankrupt cliché that old farts in
their 40s don’t know how to use it. Whatever. I just wish that I could
be around when who ever it was who compiled that absurd bit of tripe
hits the 35-year-old mark.

Cheap thrills
Too cheap to buy a web cam for you computer? Or maybe you are a bored
teenager and want to have some kicks with your friends back wherever
you came from. Visit
http://cams.jacksonholewebcams.com to find a bunch of web cams, then have fun by inserting yourself into the picture.
I particularly like the Town Square view. It’s big and clear and
refreshes every 15 seconds. Pose in silly (or naughty, if you like)
positions to make a great “I Spy” game with your friends. Have the
grandparents check out the grandkids. Spy on your teenagers kissing
boys in the Town Square … the possibilities are endless. We’d love to
hear some of your favorites uses for the Town Square web cam. Or,
better yet, send us your screen captures with your favorite poses to
art@planetjh.com.

Bob Barker to put down his mike
Seventeen Emmy awards. A spot in the Television Academy Hall of
Fame. Fifty years on the tube, including a 35-year run on the
show that made him a household name. And, by his reckoning, 9,412
kisses from adoring, sometimes out-of-control fans.
That’s the legacy that Bob Barker, the long-standing host of “The Price is Right,” will be leaving when he retires.
Last October, the genteel, white-haired 83-year-old announced he would
be leaving the retail price guessing game. Weeks away is the taping of
his final episode on June 6, which will air June 15.
Off screen, Bob had amazing life, too. He grew up on an Indian
reservation, was in a three-piece jazz band, went to college on a
basketball scholarship, was WWII fighter pilot for the Nave, and
eventually became a vegetarian in 1979. Although he was subject to
multiple sexual harassment lawsuits in the 1990s, Bob’s agenda has
always been simple: “Help control the pet population; have your pet
spayed or neutered.”
