JACKSON HOLE, WYO. - If I had Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia – the fear of the number 666 – I would be bathing in holy water right now. But like the thought of 10,000 chickens locked in tiny cages with their beaks cut off until they are slaughtered for mass consumption, the number doesn’t affect me much.
Here at the
Planet, we are located right next to the heart of Jackson Hole’s Fast Food District. Two all-American eateries are within walking distance: Taco Bell and Wendy’s. Wendy’s is closer. I eat a lot of Wendy’s.
Wendy’s connoisseurs know that the Spicy Chicken Filet with no mayo is hands-down the only way to go when ordering at this franchise. Maybe you swap out fries for a baked potato to keep it healthier or because you know Wendy’s fries just don’t cut it.
Whatever. The fact is: Those who order the Spicy Chicken Filet know that it is the highest quality chicken patty available on the fast food market, and that mayonnaise will only reduce the flavor of the meat and the spiciness you desire.
Connoisseurs also know that ordering a Spicy Chicken Filet means asking for a “Number 6,” and will refer to it as such.
Head into Wendy’s on West Broadway and order a Number 6, no mayo. Upsize to medium – the devil wants you to – and the cost will be $6.66.
Saul, if he’s working, will shit his pants. If you just hit an ATM you’ll have 20s on you. Pay with a 20 and your change will be $13.34. Is Dave Thomas playing Satanic mind games on us from his grave? Consider this: The first historical reference associating the number 666 with the Devil happens in the Book of Revelations, Chapter 13. Check out verses 3 and 4:
“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
And: “And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
No one, no sandwich – nothing! – can compare to the Spicy Chicken Filet upsized to medium. How can you say no when the beast satisfies with every fiery bite? Order one today and join me.
