Jackson Hole, Wyo.-On Friday, art galleries and restaurants unite for not one, but two occasions. Fall Arts Fest means lots of art, lots of food and well, free wine everywhere. With enough action to send your senses into overload, your best bet is just to show up on Town Square in your art-walking attire and let your taste buds lead the way, as every gallery will have some type of happening.

From 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, around 30 downtown art galleries will open their doors to pair their art and offer food, wine and music during the Palates & Palettes Gallery Walk.
Then, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, Taste of the Tetons will showcase valley chefs, restaurants and caterers as they put their best culinary work on display for sampling while the Jackson Hole Cowboy Jubilee provides musical entertainment.
Also on Sunday, during the Taste of the Tetons, the Art Association will simultaneously hold its annual Takin’ it to the Streets are fair around the Square, with plenty of local art to compliment the food.

Although some galleries are still looking to be matched with a restaurant, chef, or caterer, here is the list of pairings so far for Palates and Palettes:

Trio Fine Art with Trio American Bistro
Brookover Gallery with Amangani
Meyer-Milagros Gallery with Cioccolato
Galleries West Fine Art with Burke’s Chop House
Images of Nature with Nikai
Silver Dollar Mercantile with Silver Dollar Grill
Muse Gallery with Dining In Catering, Inc.
Craft Gallery with Sweetwater Restaurant
Trailside Galleries with The Cowboy Steakhouse
Wild By Nature Gallery with Nani’s
Buffalo Trail Gallery with The Rising Sage Café
Two Grey Hills (Self Catered)
Jack Dennis’s Wyoming Gallery with The Blue Lion
Caswell Gallery with Snake River Brew Pub
Horizon Fine Art with Old Yellowstone Garage
Wilcox Gallery with The Bunnery
Oswald Gallery with Albertsons and The Liquor Store
Mountain Trails Gallery with Gun Barrel
The Art Association with Bistro Catering
Center Street Gallery with Thai Me Up
Lyndsay McCandless Contemporary with Earth & Vine
A Horse of A Different Color with Old Town Grill & Fish Market
West Lives On Gallery with Lost Creek Ranch
The Mountain Light Gallery with The Everest Momo Shack

Many of the restaurants that are participating in Taste of the Tetons have submitted descriptions of what they will be serving on Town Square come Sunday. And although, much like a wine label, the words can sometimes be more delicious to read than the food is to taste, here are a few that whet you appetite. We only hope for the best.

• Gamefish (Snake River Lodge & Spa) – Gamefish Reuben: a unique twist on an old favorite.  Charbroiled salmon filet topped with pickled fennel and onion, dill havarti cheese and roasted tomato aioli on a grilled marble rye served with house made chips or jalapeno slaw

• Turpin Meadow Ranch – Pork Tenderloin with feta and peaches wrapped in grape leaves and topped with fig demi-glace

• Nikai – Smoked Tasmanian salmon tartar served on a crispy cucumber chip
But what could turn out to be the sleeper hit is Snake River Grill, which is serving simple mini Baja fish tacos. Lots of restaurants will be on the town Square all weekend long, and now is the chance to sample what they have to offer risk free.

So go on, take a chance, head to Town Square to sample the creativity that Jackson has to offer.
