The nonprofit Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding Association will benefit from the annual “Stomping of the Divots” fundraiser Saturday at the Melody Ranch Polo Fields.
The group’s largest fundraiser of the year will include a polo match featuring members of the Jackson Hole Polo Club, a dinner catered by Bill Boney, a silent auction and music and dancing by the Richard Brown Orchestra.
JHTRA also will demonstrate how they provide therapy to disabled children and adults with the use of horses. JHTRA recently expanded its program from 60 to almost 90 riders, hired two new part-time instructors, and are now able to offer three more months of riding a year. JHTRA is certified by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, which has strict policies to ensure quality programs take place in all Therapeutic Riding Associations through out the country.
Saturday’s fundraiser will help raise money for expenses the organization incurs, such as paying for horses, instructors, and insurance. Tickets are $300 for individuals or $2,200 for a table of eight. For more information, call JHTRA Executive Director Kelly Merriott at 733-1374.
