Don't throw out that tube

I know you all do your part to recycle what you can.  We are fortunate to live in a community that values recycling and makes it accessible to everyone. Glass, plastic, paper, cardboard – you know the drill.

But what about taking it a step further? How ’bout that tube you flatted last night? Sure, you didn’t just pitch it in Cache Creek, but what now. Unfortunately there is no tube recycling program that I’m aware of, but “reuse” is another imported part of the RRR formula. So before you throw away the tube that lasted all of two rides consider these reuse options:

1. Patch it. Three patches is awesome, but even one helps the big picture.

2. Bring it to your local bike shop. Most shops have some sort of tube reuse program they can send tubes to. These tubes go on to becoming saddle bags and messenger bags.

3. Get creative! Our customers have used their old tubes for ski straps, bungee cords and the ever popular water ballon launcher!
