Jackson Hole, Wyo.-
The undefeated Jackson Hole High School Broncs, a division 4A team,
shut out Rock Springs, a division 5A team, last Friday with a score of
26-0.
“It was a game that people around the state had us picked to loose,” said Defensive Coach James Hall, “but we shut them out.”
It has been nine quarters since another team has scored on the Broncs,
who shut out Lander during the previous weekend’s homecoming game at
JHHS. The win against Rock Springs secured a spot in the playoffs for
the Broncs, who ultimately would like to host a playoff game. A hosting
opportunity could arise if they beat Worland (whose record stands at
(4-1) during a conference game starting at 7 p.m. this Friday.
“It’s a big game for us to win in order to secure a possible hosting opportunity,” said Hall.
Hall, who has been coaching the football team for five years, said this
is one of the best teams he’s seen come through. He attributes it to a
large class of seniors who have been competitive with each other since
middle school.
“They lift hard and they train hard,” said Hall. “They are talented athletes.”
