Jackson Hole, Wyo.-Mountain bike season has arrived! Two weeks ago, I was thinking we still had another month to go, but Mother Nature has given us some dry trail. As you start to explore the singletrack, please tread lightly on the muddy sections. The best practice is to get off and walk your bike through these spots. If you’re taking good care of the trail, your bike should look relatively clean at the end of a ride. Here are the latest trail conditions:
Putt-Putt - Clear and dry except for some low lying shady spots.
Hagen - Still too muddy, wait another week or so
Ferrins Slide - Not ready yet.
Sink or Swim - Lots of good rideable dirt
Pine Creek Bench (west side of Pine Creek Pass) - Dry and good to go!
Horseshoe Canyon (Big Holes) - Lower Bovine, Channel Lock, South Bound are rideable with proper etiquette in the wet spots
Parallel Trail - A lot of dry parts, good trail building zone
If you need more info on conditions or directions for any of these trails, stop into your favorite local bike shop.
