Bike Week

Jackson Hole, Wyo.-Here we go again! Black leather chaps, lines of hogs outside the Cowboy Bar, the sweet rumble of Harleys through town ... oh wait, no, not that bike week.  BICYCLE WEEK! Unfortunately, Mother Nature hasn’t exactly cooperated for us but that shouldn’t stop you from thinking cycling all week long.

Friends of Pathways has arranged a great schedule of events that you can find on posters all over town. But if you can’t find the time to make any of the formal gatherings, a great way to participate is to be a bicycle ambassador everyday. Stop at EVERY stop sign, signal at EVERY intersection, and wave to EVERY cyclist you see.

The point of Bike Week is to raise not only the awareness about cycling but also the positive image of cycling. Of course we have equal rights on the road, but we have to show cars the respect we expect of them in return. Gas prices have a lot of people thinking more and more about riding a bike these days. Push them over the edge by making it look easy! Eventually it will be a line of bicycles on Broadway all summer long!
