Sweep it up

Jackson Hole, Wyo.-On the way to work from Victor last week, I saw a classic local phenomenon. At the bottom of the west side of Teton Pass, there was a street sweeper ready to buff out Highway 22, while snow plows and sanding trucks were working their way up the east side.

Sometimes the Wyoming Department of Transportation just can’t win! Well, I’m happy to report that the sweepers were back at it this week, and it looks like the sanding might be done for the summer. Keep your fingers crossed!

I want to thank WYDOT for taking such good care of this road. As for the rest of the Valley roadways, WYDOT will be sweeping the state highways, Jackson Public Works will be sweeping the town roads, and Jackson Pathways Department will be handling the county roads. Remember, everyone’s budget and manpower was stretched thin this winter, so the roads are getting swept as soon as possible. Now go ride up the pass, the Teton Pass Hill Climb is just around the corner!
