Jackson Hole, Wyo.-“We had another good week. Linda has done it again, and we have access at the end of Phillips Canyon at Fish Creek. It is a ‘permissible access,’ which is pretty much a spoken access. Once again we are asking people to be respectful of the private land, stay on the trail, and to keep speeds down.
Linda and I put up a whole bunch of signs marking the private land and asking for a little respect. We put up a mini-kiosk with a small map and a little information as well. Also, Galen, Randy, and I put up a ‘Galen special’ bridge on Friday. Folks should like it.
“We spent a bunch of time looking at the layout for the lower-Ridge Trail. There is talk of maybe getting the St. Anthony’s work crew a little longer, so we want to be ready for them. I have to say looking at some of that lower layout is a little overwhelming. There are some tough sections to get through down there. We counted at least seven switchbacks. The road uses a lot of the good layout and the Ridge gets quite spiny limiting layout.
“The Jackson Trail Crew continues to give me help and support. They reburied some exposed culverts on the upper Putt-Putt this week and improved the ditches. They also did some nipping on the KC trail. I really appreciate their help in the GSKA as I have been so focused on the Ridge Trail construction on Teton Pass.”
