MooseCross time!

Jackson Hole, Wyo.-It’s not ski season yet.  In fact, if you head out and pound your body now, you’ll likely burn out by spring, and start road riding on un-swept shoulders when the skiing is actually good. If you’ve been reading this column, you know where I’m headed.  Don‘t stop biking; start reaping the rewards of cyclocross riding. Just think of all the dirt roads you could access with a cross bike or moutain bike. Take an afternoon to go down that road you never actually turn on to.  Maybe you’ll find that dream cabin in the woods with a “for sale by owner” sign on it.

Maybe you’ll see a view of the Grand you’ve never caught before or just earn an excuse for a few Brew Pub beers. When the weekend comes, there is no better way to spend time with the family than checking out a cross race.  The excitement is high and spectating is easy.  If you want to race, bring the whole family because everyone will race at different times so you can share kid duty and still get your fix.

This weekend is the MooseCross Race in Victor and will be the largest regional cross race of the season. Action starts at 12:30 p.m. with a free kids race and goes until the pro men’s race at 4 p.m. Join us after at Pierre’s Playhouse for food, refreshments and footage of the days events.  See you there! www.MooseCross.com
